All Star Block Party Features!

Thanks to all of you who joined up for the All-Star Block Party last week!  And another thank you to the All-Star Girls:

for inviting me to be a guest co-host. It wasn’t an easy task to pick a few favorites from over 150 amazing project, but here are a few that caught my eye.

Shelly from Shizzle Designs used layers and layers of chalk paint to create the gorgeous finish on this dresser.

This amazing pantry makeover at While Wearing Heels has me drooling….they made their own library ladder to reach the top shelves!

I love these hand-crocheted snowflakes from Howling at the Moon.  Wouldn’t these be pretty suspended from a chandelier?

As the mother of three boys, this Lego storage calls to me with a siren song…but I can’t imagine the work of sorting out the colors at the start, so I’ll probably just continue to admire this organization solution from 2 Little Superheroes.

legodrawers The Ultimate Lego Storage

And I love this great idea for turning old holiday cards into mini boxes from Sweet Boutique Home.  Wouldn’t these be fun gathered in a big glass jar??

And finally, one more amazing furniture piece.  Love the knobs, the script, the color…everything from {create inspire.}

If you’ve been featured, feel free to grab a button!

Link Party No. 75!

I seriously cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week! I am going to take a break from link party next week and instead, I am going to have a "TRH Thanksgiving giveaway"!

The past couple of years I did a Thanksgiving giveaway, and I asked you guys to leave a comment of what you are thankful for. It was so nice to read all your comments and be in a thankful mood for Thanksgiving. I wanted to have the post ready a week before Thanksgiving; then announce the winner on Thanksgiving Day. Not this year though... All the medical mumbo-jumbo totally threw me off and I didn't plan it very well.

So, what I am going to do this year is, I will post the giveaway post on the 23rd, and run it until the 29th, then announce the winner on 30th. I will ask you to leave a comment telling us what you are thankful for, of course! So think about some blessings, a situation, things, or people in your life.

I went into a thrift store the other day before picking the kids up from school. I just had to peek in to see what they got. B.i.n.g.o! I found a couple vintage sheets in mint condition (how mint? They were still in the original package!).

That is really hard to come by, and I love the design on the fabric. Unlike pastel color vintage sheets I always find, this one has a more unique color scheme. A little Amy Butler-ish, I would say. That is why I can't stop going to these stores, I never know what is there and waiting for me.

I have so many ideas that I want to do with it, but I really need to finish this one quilt I started with vintage sheets several month ago, before I can start a new one.

Ok, it's your turn everyone, what do you have to show us this week? Link up and have fun!

1. Please post something YOU made. It doesn't matter if it is crochet, quilt, clothing, anything would be fine. I want to see it! If you use someone's idea or patterns please give them the rightful credit.

2. Link to your specific post, that way it is easier for everybody to find and read it.

3. Please grab the "Tea Rose Home" grab button, and link back from your post. If you can mention the party in your post or place the button on your side bar, that would be great! I want more people to have a chance to come and show off their creation.

Link Party No. 73!

I posted the 3 lucky winners for the 25 Holiday cards by Shutterfly here, so make sure to find out if you won.

If you didn't win this time don't be discouraged...
I don't know if you remember this or not, but I did Tea Rose Home 3rd Anniversary Giveaway in September. I mentioned that I will have FOUR giveaway posts. Then, my medical condition got worse and I couldn't do the last giveaway. Because there was something I wanted to make for this last giveaway, and it was a bit hard for me...BUT I am the type of girl who keeps my word (well, at least I really try to).

I have been up and about lately, and did some sewing and it is done! It's not anything big, but I thought the item(s) will represent my blog in some ways...hint hint...keep guessing what it could be...hehehe
I will have the giveaway sometime in the next week, so make sure to come back to see what it is.

Meanwhile, please start linking your fabulous projects to share with all!

Link Party No. 71 / Guest Post: Arcadian Home Decor

Before we start the link party, allow me to introduce you to Jenn from Arcadian Home Decor. I think their style fits in well with my style. I love the beautiful pictures, especially the... Oh I couldn't decide, I love 'em all! Enjoy!

I write daily for an e-commerce website that specializes in top home decor ideas from around the world called Arcadian Home Decor. It allows me to flaunt my inner designer by writing about a myriad of home decor topics and I love being a part of their team. Every day I spend hours poring over great interior design sites, and one that has always stood out is Tea Rose Home, where Sachiko never ceases to amaze me with her beautiful posts. Thanks for letting me write here today Sachiko!

Sometimes a little pattern can go a long way, and such is the case with ruffles. Subtle and graceful, ruffled lights like lamps and hanging fixtures are refined choices of home accessories and are attractive in almost any room. These are eight beautiful ruffled lights we adore.

The colourful circles on this ceiling light created a delicate ruffled effect that breaks up the spaciousness of the high ceilings. The sweeping curtains are also very beautiful.

Ruffles work perfectly in a nursery because of their soft texture - here, a ruffled lampshade is mimicked in framed baby clothing wall art, a unique way to showcase ruffles.

Ruffles look pretty in a singular fashion but are even more striking in twos - here, ruffled lamps act as bookends to this bird-inspired bed, while the drape-like canopy matches the dainty material of the shades.

Link Party No. 70!

Ok, I am NOT going in to get the procedure this Thursday :(
The hospital called us yesterday and told us that there was a miscommunication and they can’t get me in this week. Well they can’t get me in for another 2 weeks!

I didn't want to get the procedure, but part of me just wants to do it so I can get better soon...

I am just hoping that my condition will at least stay the same and not get worse.

Meanwhile, I am going to take it easy, and enjoy some sewing here and there. :)

So, I decided to do a Link party this week. I am sorry that I had to take a break from the link party for two weeks. I hope you have some things to share with us!

OK, go ahead and link up, enjoy everyone’s creations. I will!

Link Party No.69/ Bracelets for Little Girl

I shared my Liberty of London fabric covered buttons a few posts ago. I am actually making something using them... I will be ready to share the pictures soon.

Meanwhile, I started making something for my nieces in Japan for Christmas. I wanted to make a few things and wrap them up really pretty. One of the things I made was this bracelet. I went through my buttons and beads to color coordinate them. It was such a simple and fun project. You can whip up several of them in no time!

When Rachel came home, she found the bracelets on the table. As I predicted, she grabbed the pink one and said, "What's this for?" blah blah blah, "Why is there so many?" blah blah blah, and she finally got to the point, "I am wondering... is this mine?” (Followed by a grin). Oh fine, have it now; it is so hard to resist the cute smile.

She wore her pink bracelet for the rest of the day and loved it, which made me happy. I hope those bracelets will bring a smile to my nieces’ faces when they open their gifts.

It is your turn to share your creations. Link up, visit each other and have fun! :)

Link Love No. 66!

I can't believe this is the last weekend of summer vacation. In the beginning, I was thinking that I have a LOOOOONG summer ahead of me, but it actually flew by so fast! I wanted to teach my kids so many more things (cooking/crafting) during the summer, but I think I actually did about the half of the things I had in mind.

We didn't go on a big vacation or anything, but we did a lot, and had a blast!

This may sound a bit crazy, but I think I will miss having them with me all the time. Really, I mean it. :)

Are you ready for the link love?

A while ago, I made a necklace with crochet beads, and some of you asked me if I made the beads. I used the crochet beads from a craft store, so I wasn't able to share a tutorial... now you are in luck! Little Treasures made these cute crochet beads and shows you how on her blog. Aren't they so fun?

I just LOVE this idea! I can't Stop Crafting created these cards with her children's pictures. What a fun way to preserve memories, I bet they will enjoy them for years to come.

I always wished that Wal-Mart and Target would sell more stylish kids bikes at an affordable price (there are stylish bikes you can find on the web, but they are a LOT more expensive!). DIY Kinda Girl took a garage sale find pink bike and turned in to an orange/aqua blue bike. I LOVE the color combination!

The one thing you might not know about me is...I choose "Lemony" dessert over "Chocolaty" dessert. If there is an option where I can have both, of course I do that... :) but, if I have to choose one, Lemony is 99% of my choice. The Ivy Cottage Blog shared this Lemon Cake recipe, and it looks soo good. I feel like I can almost smell the lemon scent coming out from the oven.

First of all, I want to applause Happy Looks Good on You; she bravely painting a piano! I would be so afraid to make mistakes and damage the piano. Not only did she paint the piano, she did such a fabulous job! It looks amazing!

Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with us every week! By the way, I have so much going on, so I decided to take a break from the link party next week. I will have the usual posts and more (what? Did someone hear GIVEAWAY?). I will see you at my next post!

Link Love No. 65!

Hmm... I have several projects I started working on, but there were so many other things that I had to take care of first and they are not quit done enough yet to share with you. I know it will be like this the rest of the week! So I am just going to share a sneak peek of what is to come in the (hopefully near) future...

It took me over three years to collect all these vintage pillowcases/sheets from thrift stores. Sometimes if I am lucky I would find several really pretty pillowcases in good conditions, but that is very rare.

I asked you all what I should do with them and many of you said dress for my daughter or a quilt. I thought about it hard... (Remember, once I cut them, that is it! I can't buy them at the fabric stores or order on-line... they are so precious).

Drum roll... I decided to make a quilt! If took me another several days to come up with the design for the quilt, but I am happy to say that I already cut all the pieces I need. I am in the middle of piecing. :) I can't wait to share the finished quilt!

Go ahead and link up and have fun!

Link Party No. 63 and New Tutorial at Sew Dang Cute

I am guest posting at Sew Dang Cute today. Please head over there to say hi to lovely Tam and check out my new (and easy-peasy) tutorial!

I noticed something unthinkable today... my sewing machine has been collecting dust! This hardly ever happens to me, but because of the accident, lots of family stuff and playing with the kids, I didn't sew anything last week. I am starting to get really antsy.

All sorts of ideas are in my head and they are ready to be unleashed...

Hopefully I can share them with you soon. :)

What have you been working on? It is time to share with the world!

Link Party No. 60!

Several months ago, I found these frames for $3.00 a piece at a thrift store... I loved the details on the frame, and wanted to give them new life. (Looks like the previous owner even attempted to paint one of them).

A little bit of a spray paint and cork board, they look much better.

Originally I wanted to use them as my design board, but now I am not so sure.

I was playing around to see how these frames would look with some jewelries, and I l love the look also!

Should I use them as a jewelry display board or as a design board (yea, I need to organize my ideas too)? If you were me, what would you do?

Ok, it is time for the link party! Please link up your fabulous projects and share with us!
